My name is Morgan Hess.

I am a man of many professions; it would be difficult to list them all. Ultimately, you could call me a storyteller. Or an artist. Or a philosopher. Or a professional nerd. You could call me any of these things; they’re all true.

I am an author, cartoonist, filmmaker, and game maker. I live to tell stories; I’m a storyteller first and foremost.

More minor titles I carry are magician, musician, painter, and bookbinder. I am an artist in subordination to being a storyteller.

I long to know the truth. I pursue it relentlessly, and I attempt to share what I find with the rest of the world. I believe that learning is the first step to achieving happiness; therefore I am a philosopher.

I am a bookworm, film buff, manga otaku, television lover, hardcore gamer, theatre nut, art connoisseur, amateur historian, and great lover of cheesecake. In short, I’m an enormous nerd. My greatest loves are beauty and wonder- I turn to literature and art to provide me with these things. I tell stories because I wish to have some experiences that are not yet available to me- and so the duty falls to me to bring them into existence.

I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of the ultimate artistic achievement: penning the Grand Masterpiece of All Literature. I strive to do the impossible, and create a work that reveals life’s most sought-after treasure: the secret to happiness.

And yet, I believe this secret has already been revealed. Perhaps the Grand Masterpiece of All Literature has already been written, perhaps hundreds of times. After all, I’m happy. I love what I do, and I wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world. I think others have learned how to be happy, as well, and have also written it down. What’s the secret, you ask? I believe a tremendously wise man already put it perfectly:

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow; learn as if you were to live forever.”
